The day before UNWTO General secretary Mr. Taleb Rifai and Deputy Director of International department of Federal Agency for tourism of the Russian Federation Ms Ekaterina Smirnova had a meeting. The Executive UNWTO Director Mr. Zoltan Shomogi, Regional European Director Ms. Isabel Garanya and Russian Federation Embassy Advisor Mr. Dmitry Sokolov also presented at the summit.
Mr. Taleb Rifai marked that Russia is one of the most perspective world tourism destinations with high tourism development potential. Also within summit frames the sides discussed the preparation of bilateral UNWTO seminar about state and non-commercial partnership which will take place in Moscow, March 19,2012 in frames of VII International travel fair «Intourmarket 2012».

One of the biggest International travel fairs «FITUR-2012» was opened on January 18, 2012. This tourism forum unites participants from 160 world countries and regions and has more than 200 000 visitors annually.
